Jason Mraz playing live at the free show "Bigelow Bash 2008" hosted by the University of Pittsburgh.

My apologies for the crowd noise, although, I think the song is still well audible.

***NOTE: This is an all day outdoors event/carnival held by Pitt as a stress reliever at the end of every spring semester. This year Jason happened to be the headliner.

Yes, the crowd noise sucks, but keep these things in mind:

1) It was a free show which encourages people to show up who don't know the artist who is playing (this is GOOD for Jason!) so these people won't be singing along, they are only just now being exposed!

2) There is a lot of other crap going on at the same time, not just Jason: dunk tank, games etc

3) The camera is far enough away to get a good shot which put it out with the people who AREN'T the big fans. These are the people who likely aren't even there for the show and are just walking by

4) There were A TON of loyal fans up front singin along enjoying every second (myself included, my friend agreed to play camera man for me).

so like I said, sorry about the crowd noise but...
PLEASE DON'T TRASH TALK THE CROWD

  • Although, I must admit that his music isn't really in the real »sellout region» of pop. But, like any pop, the fans are way too much. I mean, how can you honestly (a girl said this concerning the same matter not to long ago) say that EVERY SONG ON AN ALBUM is one of the best songs ever? (especially considering that the songs are about 3 minutes each, has VERY GENERIC chord progressions, repetive choruses and a general lack of variation) I guess this is a matter of fanboyism (or -girlism ;)

  • I think you'd have a different opinion of Mraz if you actually knew his material. I base this mainly off your statement about it lacking variation.

If you were familiar with his material you would note that his live playing varies GREATLY from that which he recorded in the studio. Also it varies greatly from live show to live show. This is why I am a fan, personally.

His jazz influence and ability to free form his music is the draw.

  • We must destroy this city, for half of it is immune to SEXY!

  • how can so many people not care that jason mraz is playing in front of them?

  • I agree this crowd sucked, bunch of people just standing around as if there isn't an awesome band & singer on stage playing the hell out of this song.

  • @LosingKeys1 Well, while your arguments are such subjectivist bullshit that I can't say anything against it, I really believe that the way he makes you feel is an easy accomplishment. Also, I personally find his music to make me feel sick and disgusted, so yeah, you're pretty badly off.

  • @StAngersucks you act like its so easy to write a song people want to listen to. its not about how hard a song is to play its about how a song makes you feel.

  • Ugh stupid crowd so noisy QQ
