Nearside rear lets go first. Cloesly followed by the offside rear axle. You can see the nearside rear tyre lose drive. Then closely followed by the offside halfshaft. 3 hours later the car was ready to race again thanks to the Pit crew.

  • hi , awesome mgb v8 man..i had my mgbv8 race car down the quarter mile did a 13.5@103mph..its got 230 hp at the wheels.. ive got an lsd but im still running the standard mgb 4 cylinder salibury axle..can i ask you how long the axle lastest before you brok it and what sort of hp at the wheels are you running?

    Hi!

    That launch was a big aggressive :)

    I had too much nitrous ooff the line. She was running a 150 shot off the line with another 150 shot coming in over 1.5 seconds.

    I use second hnad 1800 shafts in mine all the time. If you are using a 1800 mgb ratio diff you might be able to get a front wheel off the ground with good traction if she is putting out 200 at the wheels. Mine now makes 404hp so about 360 at the wheels.

  • so how many axles have you broken?

  • so how many axles have you broken? to date? have you ever stripped the pinion or crown wheel..,i do heaps of hillclimbs and sprints and am allways very gentle when i leave the start line..maybe i shout just give it heaps of revs as you seem to think the axles are pretty strong then? like i say ive only got 230hp at wheels

  • the last power figures was......... 382bhp with 580 foot pounds

  • Shame! the car looks fantastic, very interested to know the torque figure for Perry's car, as im putting quite at load thru my halfshafts,
