For the past 8 or 9 years, on the weekend of the Outboard Drag Boat Association Championships, a large group of hot boat enthusiasts have met at TVA's Shelmound launch near Nickajack Dam on the Tennessee River & have ridden together about 90 miles to Chattanooga & back. It is a great time, even if it has rained many of the times or is predicted to rain. I am sorry for the at times shaky & off angle video as I am taping & often driving at the same time.

  • what kinda speeds were you averaging ?

  • 60-70 MPH in smooth water-sometimes as slow as 40 or so. My top speed for the day was only low 80's. Others ran faster, some slower. Winds were from 10 & up to 30+ MPH gusts. The offshore boats ran whatever they wanted to. The drag racers ran 105 plus in the 1/4
