Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Union Pacific 52 local was shoving 27 cars back into ISP Minerals in Annapolis, Missouri. At approximately 11:30 in the morning, three cars on the end of the train dropped from the rails, just short of a trestle spanning the Big Creek. One of the train's conductors was riding on the rear tanker, and jumped from the car, landing on a pile of old tie plates. He was un-injured thankfully. The majority of this video is of the crew clearing the mainline for other traffic tonight, and the very last bit is a short clip of the derailed cars. I was not able to get much footage of the cars, due to the fact that it was not only on Railroad Property, but also the property of ISP Minerals. I was with a Sheriff's Deputy during that time period, so don't start a bunch of bull about Trespassing.

  • WHOOPS!!! A Broken rail? Rail misaligned?

  • @kybuddy Poorly maintained track, all the ties were rotted out, and couldn't hold the weight of the train.
