Well, I'm a little surprised that so many people automatically think this song is Christian or about nuclear war . . . any LP fan worth their salt knows that they like to create lyrics which will be open to interpretation by their listeners, not dictate their own philosophies. I'm Christian and I can see how the song works for secular OR religious apocalypse. I personally think it's a very brave move in such a cynical society to tackle ANY of these issues, much less work to them all at once.
@xmarcs sounds christian to me...looks crisian to me...theres christian symbology in the video..."god bless us" "lift me up let me go" far from the world of u and i (heaven)" "the sins" "god ave us for our sins" take it how u want it...but i got respect for a mainstream band to even mention god.
@xmarcs oh, well the bible isn't a fairy tale, it's all true. but i really don't want to start an argument. sorry if that made you a little frustrated. and becoming a christian band, most christian bands don't care about the money, they just want to get the word out. and i know i couldn't really see LP becoming christian. Though some members in the band are.
@pivotmap it's not at all. It's about apocalyptic type of stuff just because of the eminent threat of nuclear warfare. "Symphonies of blinding light". "A broken people living under loaded gun." The only people who turn to Christian rock are bands that want to make a little bit of money and need a cult atmosphere to get it started.. thus why bands leave christian rock to play real music. I'm not a huge fan but at least they're tackling real issues like nukes.. not the fairy tale in the bible..
OMG!!! It is so ADORABLE to hear Chester gush like that over Mike!!! Yay!!! LP RULES and thsi song is definitely the most AMAZING. LP never fail to surprise us and what stands out in their songs is their versatility, yet always making audiences believe that no one but LP could have produced this. LP forever. :) :)

@COD5WAWZK well, in the last couple pages of the album booklet, it says who they thank. Chester says God for his first thanks.
Just sayin'
