I loved the Alligator Farm, and the Pottery Shop right next to it too ;)
My favorites were the Nile Crocodiles, the four gargantuan crocodiles in the sunken concrete enclosure, anyone else remember them?

I remember going there quite a few times in the whole decade of the '70's. I remember getting all those postcards....I remember all the snakes they had...especially the cobras! I remember the slide the alligator used to climb up to get a treat...alligators all over that enclosure! What I wonder the most is what did they do with the 2 large Nile crocodiles that they had...I remember their enclosure wasn't very big...There were 2 of them. I think one was 19 feet and the other not much smaller...

The Alligator farm is gone? I'll bet that the Tortoise is still alive, somewhere!

Wow! That's so great. I'm sure lots of people will remember. Do you have any movies (or stills) of the Alligator Farm (and your shop) to upload here? Bet they're better than mine, and I welcome them. Such a rare wonderful part of past. You probably remember the Alligator Farm's own shop, featuring pieces of their residents.
Thank you for joining YouTube and sharing your memories.

So sweet of you, Kate. Never smile at a crocodile, but so much better sooner than later for this alligator.

Thanks for remembering it, David.
I used to love the place. But I had forgotten when it ceased to be - so I checked the Wikipedia: "California Alligator Farm. The attraction was shut down in 1983 after attendance dropped below 50,000 persons annually, and the animals were relocated to a private estate in Florida."
