For more information on this history lesson go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czcUmnsprQI "Why You've Never Heard of the Great Depression of 1920 | Thomas E. Woods, Jr. "

Additionally, you can also visit: http://mises.org/daily/3788

Also, you can go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depression_of_1920-21 . I don't always trust Wikipedia but whatever. I'm trying to point at that it happened and nobody knows about it.

The Great Depression was not so great in comparison to The Forgotten Depression of 1920.

The solution to this depression was not the government. There were no bailouts, no stimulus and no tax increases.

In fact, it was quite the opposite. Presidents Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge slashed the budget and lowered taxes for all. What prompted this? Woodrow Wilson's progressive agenda of control, spend, tax and regulate. Wilson gave us unemployment, debt and more overreaching centralized power. However, it only took 1 year to escape Wilson's disaster. The solution... free enterprise and limited government. The result... the Roaring Twenties.

Where did the Roaring success go? Dictatorial progressives Hoover and FDR brought us right back to Wilson's disaster with taxes, regulation, and the dictatorial New Deal, which only prolonged the Great Depression and sets us back even today.

A golden teachable moment in the history of our great nation. Government is not the solution to our problem; Government IS the problem. The only way for our country to succeed is through free enterprise and limited government.

  • The reason the Harding tax cut worked was because the top tax was 77%, not the 37% it is today. Tax Optimization 101. What we have today are a gang of lawyers by trade making decisions about our country that defy the basics of economics because they put the party before the people.

Glenn Beck is a biased fool. People who listen to him and look up to him like a pastor are whores.

  • Wilson tricked us into WWI.

  • @CrackerXZ Glenn is a biased douche, but smart. Progressives are responsible for large government, but the "other half" Glenn neglects telling you is that Keynesian economics (government intervention)is largely responsible as well. Many on the right and left support Keynesian economics. Warren went another way...Austrian.

watch this for less political bias

It's the Austrians vs the Keynesian's

  • So the 1929 collapse was the fault of "progressives"? But not the boom BEFORE it? Jesus Christ, I have never heard such stupidity from the "news".

  • WOW... That was the most misleading pile of shit I've ever seen. Why am I not surprise. It's should be illegal to misinform millions of american. Fox "News". Get the fuck out of here...

  • The more things change...

  • ROARING 20'S A HOAX?
