I love this route. It is in my mind (as well as many others) a feat of engineering. I got the chance of riding on this route, during a trip to Alaska on a cruise liner so many years ago. I even had the pleasure of climbing into the cab of locomotive No. 73 and blew the whistle when the engine was in Skagway on stand-by.
