Melissa McGinnis with GreenopolisTV is in Carson, California today celebrating 1,000 trucks to be run off of natural gas. This is gas harvested off a landfill. It's methane turned into liquefied natural gas. If methane is left alone, it could be potentially harmful to the environment so waste management is solving several issues by converting it into natural gas and using it for its own plea. It's actually closing the loop on people's trash and providing a great service for them and the environment. Natural gas is less toxic than the typical diesel fuel which these trucks only run off of. Diesel actually promotes a higher level of carbon and greenhouse gasses contributing to global warming while this gas is the cleanest burning fuel out there. So several environmental issues and reasons why we would want to promote this type of gas and so many reasons to be excited today and celebrating in this successful, big win!
