Police dash cam fatal accident after officer crashes

Police dash cam.Virginia,Recently released after trial:
TEXT FROM SOURCE:Ashley McIntosh was killed in a violent collision with a Fairfax County police officer who ran a red light at a high speed with no siren on February 12, 2008.
The officer was charged with reckless driving and went to trial.
The court found that the officer's actions were not reckless and delivered a not guilty verdict.

How could this happen? Because Virginia law says an officer's speed and use of lights and siren when driving through a red light are determined by what is "reasonably necessary." In otherwords, at the discretion of the officer. .
This is not enough and jeopardizes lives.

Suggested change to law:
Change the law to: a) mandate that emergency vehicle operators always use their lights and siren when driving through red lights, and b) mandate emergency vehicle operators slow their vehicles so they are able to make a controlled stop when driving through any intersection.

usually i find myself siding with the actions of police officers but in this case the officer shouldve came to a stop to make sure the intersection was safe before proceeding

Thats why you always stop and clear an intersection. Cops who dont follow simple procedures like that should be shackled to a desk and made to do paperwork.

Cops are criminals with weapons and badges. This guy was obviously full of himself being above us little civilians and not worrying about others safety. Very few cops I've met are worth a damn. Mostly power tripping a-holes with a bad attitude. Karma will hook his ass up.

Note traffic prior was pulling right meaning he had his lights on he also slowed as he entered the intersection, however he did not clear the intersection before breeching there for he is responsable for the wrongful death.

Most Police I've seen around my area, even when running with lights/siren, they almost Always slow down and look when crossing red lights.
