@amjan yep I guess so, but Daniel Johns will forever be a better songwriter than Ratt Bellamy

I have a feeling I'll like anything Daniel Johns ever does regardless of what it sounds like.

It's like they've took some acid and never really seem to escape from the effects... They've all turn into annoying homos ... His mind set needs to be 16 again...

@runnersdialzero333 diorama is an incredible album, my favourite silverchair album so far, my point is that they could have played some of their old songs, I first listened to them when they released freak show and I loved that album, then I bought frogstomp and although the songs were simple and the lyrics... rather bad, I enjoyed it, a lot. I know what you mean when you compare'em to the beach boys, even Van Dyke Parks said that Daniel Johns was the most talented person he has worked with.
anyone know when they played their last show ?? and where i can find it??

@mayonaise101010 May 25th 2010 (Bass In The Grass Festival) Darwin, same setlist to all shows in 2010 except Bendigo and Townsville (Bendigo and Townsville got Young Modern Station, the other shows didnt). The only thing notable from the performance was Daniel topless for the majority of the show and after finishing on 'freak' daniel poured gasoline over a cheap LTD guitar and burned it on fire!

So we trade the PRS guitars for the 72' Telecaster? That's a HUGE drop in quality of guitar and quality of tone!!! I guess the days of hard-hitting Silverchair are over. This the same road Pearl Jam and Soundgarden took.

@discofishing I respect your opinion, but having seen all those bands mentioned live, guitars mean nothing, its what the songs mean and how they have transformed over years to mean something else.

@thechaircover I respectfully disagree. Guitars mean a whole lot as far as tone goes. This idea extends to the amps as well. The magic comes from the fingers and the soul, but the ability to drive it home comes from the gear in large part. I've seen Pearl Jam live three times. They play the same Gibsons and Fenders, but switched to vintage amps, which have worse frequency response in addition to not being maintained well. The result is very BAD tone quality.

@discofishing So basically you are saying you want every band in the 90's to sound like metal?
