Two of Australias most loved and successful female recording artists, Deni Hines and Christine Anu, are takin it to the streets again in 2009 after the success of their 2008 East-Coast of Australia tour.

On the first tour we had such a great time, that we wanted to do it all over again, especially when we have such a great cause to promote such as the Salvation Army and Oasis Youth Support Network. We feel privileged to be able to help says Christine & Deni.

In a two hour show, this sassy duo will perform their classic hits and favourite timeless songs along with some special duets, including their own rendition of the Doobie Brothers hit TAKIN IT TO THE STREETS.

While promoting their 2008 tour, Deni and Christine so happened to be performing one of their show duets TAKIN IT TO THE STREETS on the Today Show (Nine Network, Australia). On the same show was a heartfelt segment about the plight of homelessness in Australia accompanied by Captain Paul Mould of the Salvation Armys Oasis Youth Support Network, who take care and provide much needed services for the homeless and youth of Australia (who come from all walks of life.)

No less than 5 minutes after walking off set, Christine and Deni turned to each other and said weve got to do something to help and the recording of TAKIN IT TO THE STREETS was set in motion.

Deni and Christine will release their version of TAKIN IT TO THE STREETS on 15 November 2008 (Nationwide) with fifty percent (50%) of profits going to the Salvation Armys Youth Homelessness Oasis Foundation and the Everyone Is Homeless Fund.

On Wednesday, 17th December Christine and Deni will also stage a free Christmas concert version of their TAKIN IT TO THE STREETS show exclusively for the Salvation Armys Youth Homelessness Oasis Foundation and the homeless people of Sydney.

For further information on Salvation Armys Youth Homelessness Oasis Foundation and the Everyone Is Homeless Fund, please refer to www.oasis.salvos.org.au

In the ABS Census 2001 (The 2006 Census data has not been finalized), there were 100,000 homeless people (men, women and children) across Australia, one third (36,173) are youth between 12-24 years of age. Only 14.25% of homeless people were able to stay in services funded through SAAP (Supported Accommodation Assistance Program) jointly funded by both the Commonwealth and State Governments.

Christine and Deni would like to thank the following companies and people for donating their time and services free of charge of the purposes of this donation campaign drive - 301 Studios, Sing Sing Studios, David and Anthony @ DNA Songs, Tony Espie, David Walker at Stepford Audio, John Adams, Franco Raggatt, Barbara Griffin, Cameron Undy, Michael Rohanek and Rob Thompson.
