Hi,
I was glad to see this video, the thing that concerns me the most about this procedure is that the incision site is through the cheek. I would have a hard time convincing my female patients about this procedure because of that, have other entry points been done with the balloon procedure?

Dear Goddess: You make excellent points, but the cheek entry under the lip is a 3mm puncture site. That is the size of the this ( ). This makes it a straight shot. The natural trans nasal route is a tortuous route to get into the ostia opening. One must navigate between mid. turb and lateral wall (normally 3mm in width), turn 120 degrees around uncinate and find ostia. Currently under general/iv sedation balloon sinuplasty does this. So weigh total anesthesia or office procedure. BTS MD
