I heard one where a girl said a woman's baby was "Kawaisou". Sometimes, you can removie the final "i" from an adjective to say "Looks ____". But don't try it with the adjective "kawaii", because "kawaisou" can mean, "pitiful, worthy of sympathy." So the gaijin girl accidently said, "Your poor baby!"

Very much doubt the "chichi" story.. saying "gaijin" as much as possible doesnt earn you bonus points either.

haha... one can never avoid stupidity in a foreign culture. i call it the FAF phenomenon. "foreigners acting foolish." it's inevitable. you just don't understand very basic things all around you or how to negotiate them. even with some knowledge of a language or a culture there will be miscommunication, foolishness is unavoidable. truth be told, neither can we avoid stupidity in our native countries. it is inevitable. we must come to peace with foolishness. foolishness is our destiny. :)
