Sarah-
1) Thanks for giving me the idea in the first place.
2) Does this answer your question? You like?
3) I would've added two tracks from Kings of Leon's Aha Shake Heartbreak, but the CD is un-copy-able. I can upload just the drum track if you care. The songs in question would be Slow Night, So Long and Milk.
To our loyal 14 subscribers-
This is something I'd like to do more, along with more comical songs with Ben. Maybe even throw John and Grif in the mix. Who knows?
But I would like to ask if this is something you would like to see in the future...yes?
Anybody who is: a fan of these bands, talented with the skins, and/or loves teh music:
This is an idea I got from Sarah (also known as sarabewa330, on the Tubes).
Check her out, she's got some good stuff.
Video this is in response to:

Any general viewer:
I know, none of these songs are perfect...I did all of these in a span of about an hour and a half.
But I liked the idea, and thought it would be a clever way to respond to Sarah's video...plus it shows off my drumming skills (or lack thereof).
Want to know the songs?
I have rated them (in order of appearance) with a "Alright", "Pretty Good", and "Good" (in that order of ranking) with a 1-3 sentence explanation of why I rated it that for each song below.
The songs
---------------------------------------------
"You Probably Couldn't See for the Lights, But You Were Staring Straight at Me" (Arctic Monkeys)
I'd give this a pretty good. I thought that everything was dead on except for a cymbal crash or two. The thing that made this only "Pretty Good" was because I didn't sync it very well and it seems of time. Sorry.
"Rich" (Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
I think this was an "Alright." It wasn't very exact, but I do believe the things I improvised fit nicely. I'd say the chorus is what brought my rating down. Missed so many cymbal hits...so many.
"Date with the Night" (Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
"Good" I gave this a "Good" because I believed I nailed everything except the fill into the continuation of the verse, but I liked that. Definitely one of my best songs on here.
"I Can't Win" (The Strokes)
"Pretty Good" This was a pretty good because I nailed almost everything (excluding the hi-hat hit leading into the final chorus at the end of the clip) but it wasn't that challenging and was the same thing throughout, so I rated it down a bit due to the repetitiveness. Eh...
"Welcome to Tally Hall" (Tally Hall)
"Good" I loved Ross' adding of ghost notes and his fills. I didn't play them as written, but I liked it and felt it was very up-beat and cool. Woot.
"Taken for a Ride" (Tally Hall)
"Alright" I felt like the chorus is what got me. I don't know it very well and even though it sounds alright, personally, I feel weird because I know I'm messing it up. It's just such a good song I feel I need to be a bit harsh on myself.
"The Bidding" (Tally Hall)
"Pretty Good" I messed a few things up, but it sounded good to me and I like the fast fills. Nothin' much more to it...
"Statecontrol" (The Hives)
"Good" This was my best, in personal opinion. I felt like, for such a fast song, I got everything. I was most proud of the snare roll with the three cymbal hits thrown in. I thought I nailed it. Mr. Dangerous knows what he's doing...
"Supply and Demand" (The Hives)
"Good" I literally think I got everything. I was also so proud of this one. It was so rockin'. Chris Dangerous knows how to rock and he's one of the best drummers out there. Totally underrated.
"Folkin' Around" (Panic at the Disco)
No Rating. I filmed one for "She's a Handsome Woman" and this song, but, I assume, from overheating, my camera lost all the footage. All I really had left was this fill, and it isn't even something in the song. I just add this because I think it sounds right, hence the no rating.
"Leif Erikson" (Interpol)
"Good" I think I hit pretty much everything, except I added a ride cymbal hit a little too early. But other than that, I think it was good and a great lead in song for Weezer.
"Only in Dreams" (Weezer)
"Pretty Good" I thought, overall, this was nice, although I miss quite a few notes leading to the big finish with all of Pat's fills. I thought I did his fills justice, although I know towards the end it wasn't quite right. But it worked with the song, except for maybe missing the time of the cymbal hits. Otherwise, I think I ended this video right....
not bad, quite sloppy in places and didn't like the way your snare wobbles why your playing it :p but not bad playing 3/5 :)

Thanks for the criticism, man. I need it to improve. Specifically, where'd you see the problems?
ROARproDUCKtions 2 years ago
@ROARproDUCKtions I've actually changed my mind since watching it again, I like it, but the backround music could do with being a little louder. :)
Jammess95 1 year ago
Yeah, I know the quality isn't that great. I'm working off Movie Maker, so, I couldn't really make it too much louder without the audio track of the recorded drums being too over-powering.
