Edmonton Oilers- Laraque, Semenko and Battle Of Alberta

The reason Gretzky owned in Edmonton was because it was before the instigator rule and nobody wanted to deal with Semenko or McLelland. Semenko in particular was fucking crazy. Laraque, McSorely, Bonvie...all were Oilers once. I miss those days, when the Battle of Alberta was so intense. The Oilers and Flames genuinely hated each other and it resulted in some awesome hockey. Hockey is so watered down these days, I still love it but the trap and Bettman ruined it somewhat.

i have to say i too hate the fucking instigator rule, its lame to say big physical guys religated to the bench so much nowadays. i still, and always will love hockey, but if there is one thing i love more, its hockey fights

that ain't Laraque, its Peter Worrell, for Hull

I hope Tambi gets to see this one...It brings back some good memories. McLelland and Hunter was a good tilt. Tambi vs KLowe and Semenk, now they work with each other...Good times

Great old time hockey. Too bad the film quality is so shitty though.

@s470dxqm Brashear and Laraque, you say? I tell you: they are both left-handed. What do you say about that?

Laraque was the best fighter in modern hockey and he fought with respect

Hey blackslacks2 and WhereMyChicken, what the fuck do you think would make a good soundtrack to guys kicking the crap out of each other? Something by Celine Dion? Reba MacIntire? Or how about the fucking Backstreet Boys?
I think every single playoff game I've ever seen starts with Pantera or Metallica, and there's a valid reason for that, even if you don't like that kind of music.

That's not Laraque and Hemsky? Who's Brashear and Sedin?
It just came with the video clip. This video seriously took me about 45 minutes to make. I was just experimenting with it.

Donald Brashear, the "other" black enforcer from Quebec. ;)
I think he still plays with the Caps.
Nowhere as good as Laraque.

I was being sarcastic. I know that's Brashear.
It's kind of funny that almost everyone says Laraque is the best in the NHL but Laraque says it's Brashear. He's probably just being humble.
