This video shows how to install Wolf's custom firmware built around the recently released official Gingerbread v2.3 update using xRecovery.

Wolf has tweaked the firmware and added additional features such as the Mobile BRAVIA Engine from the Xperia arc, SD Card tweaks, etc.

ALL features and hardware functionality WORK.

This works on ANY rooted X10 (i or a) and the video shows all the steps from flashing a clean v2.1 to rooting to installing xRecovery and installing the custom ROM. If you ALREADY have xRecovery working, you do NOT need to flash down to v2.1. Just boot into xRecovery and install the custom ZIP.

You can also root the stock (official) v2.3.3 by following the instructions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196808

ALWAYS backup all your data, SMS, etc. before modifying your phone.

Original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196908

If anything goes wrong, use PC Companion, Update Service, or the FlashTool to flash the phone back to stock and start over.

The instructions are similar to this XDA thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193753

As always, _both_ PC Companion and Update Service MUST be installed.

  • How do you get the additional settings when you pull down the notification bar?

  • @CoRnHoLiO9608 There are tons of notification mods on XDA's Xperia apps section, typically a ZIP installed through xRecovery.

  • i have a problem i cant root my x10 2.3.3 i tried with superoneclick and that method with flashing. Superoneclick stops working and when using flashing tool it says "Installed version of busybox:" and it doesnt say none or anything after

  • @1suky1 Either you're not using SuperOneClick properly (e.g. not as admin) or you haven't turned on USB Debugging or Unknown Sources.

v2.3 has been rooted using zergRush, which is included in the latest SuperOneClick: /watch?v=9mfRA2j1vXg&hd=1

  • I know this is off topic, but I installed Swype 3.26 and I heard that there is a option to change the swype trace color. Does anybody know how that works or how to do it? thanks. Im gonna need step by step instructions by the way lol

  • @Blulightsteel There's no simple way to do it for v3.26. All other versions require a hex editor and rooting. Google "change swype trace color". There are plenty of resources/guides.

  • can u flash a baseband with xrecovery?...im just asking i already know how to flash it with the flashtool.

  • @arieljersey1 No. SIM/network lock is completely independent of any firmware on the phone. Unlocking is once and permanent. Go buy an unlock code.
