    In my opinion nothing compares to the older music, but I like all kinds of music. There were joke songs and serious, meaningful songs then, and there are still today.

    No, you're wrong. It's about a father who is a workaholic, doesn't give his little son any of his time. The years whizz by, the little boy is no longer little. He is a man, very busy. The dad is now old, can't work as much as he once did, consequently he feels a bit lonely. He might be widowed. Unfortunately the son can't or won't keep his dad company. Then he has a lightbulb moment as he realizes that he is just like his dad was at the same age.
