Rammstein Sonne
English Translation

(The English translation to Sonne)

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, out

Everyone is waiting for the light
be afraid, don't be afraid
the sun is shining out of my eyes
it will not set tonight
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the lightest star of all
Four
Here comes the sun

The sun is shining out of my hands
it can burn, it can blind you all
when it breaks out of the fists
it lays down hotly on the face
it will not set tonight
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the lightest star of all
Four
Here comes the sun
Five
Here comes the sun
Six
Here comes the sun
Seven
It is the lightest star of all
Eight, nine
Here comes the sun

The sun is shining out of my hands
it can burn, it can blind you
when it breaks out of the fists
it lays down hotly on your face
it lays down painfully on your chest
balance is lost
it lets you go hard to the floor
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the lightest star of all
Four
And it will never fall from the sky
Five
Here comes the sun
Six
Here comes the sun
Seven
It is the lightest star of all
Eight, nine
Here comes the sun

  • The Sun is a metaphor for the light, basically a better life. Its a very political song when thought about

  • That sounds very nice.

  • Great video. If I could only find the complete version that is good.

  • Yeah this song is great. I have an affinity for the German sun goddess.

  • Isn't the song about being controlled by a dictator?

  • No.

  • I need this is version rammstein sonne. someone gave a link?

  • It's a cheery little ditty about the atom bomb... 'It will burn/blind you' 'Throw you down' the lyric cheekily says. And who counts down a sunrise? One counts down a detonation. I love this song; it never fails to send a shiver down my spine. Sonne? dark, dark, dark. Watch film of 'Enola Gay' & 'Bocks' Car' B29's. Here Comes The Sun...

  • What can I say? In my opinion it's the best video I've ever seen. It's my favourite.

  • @LazarothXD I thought this son was about nuclear war.

  • yes, yes, but... how hot was snow white?

  • The song's about change. The lines "It can burn, it can blind you all" and "It will not set tonight" refers to the double-sided nature of change and the fact that it is an inevitable occurance respectively. In other words, you can't stop change from happening anymore than you can stop the sun from rising and setting.

Of course I imagine Rammstein intended the song to be a rorschach of sorts, so this is only my opinion.

  • My theory is that light means hope, like "jesus is the light of the world" and jesus is a sign of hope. so maybe its hope of release from a mental/physical torture or hope of a better life.

  • @BillsTheBassman Ok really where did you get that idea?

  • @LazarothXD~ or is it a metaphor for TRUTH??

  • @LazarothXD it's a theme song created for a boxer but never used.
