Ken Dodd was on hand to launch Blackpool's biggest, and funniest, piece of public art, the Comedy Carpet.

The artwork was designed by Gordon Young and commissioned by Blackpool Council, and can be found opposite The Blackpool Tower.

The carpet is 2,200m2 in size and is filled with jokes and catchphrases from more than 1,000 comedians.

Yes, we get the punch line ... Mr Cain at BlackpoolCouncil, BC. What a Doddle to fool Young young hearts and vacant minds into treating this garbage with reverence.

I thought it was "suits you sir"... Fantastic public art, a strange combination of classical poster and catchphrase gravestone. Can't wait to visit it in February.
