My parents live there on branson, we where visiting when it happened. I also remember like a few months afterwards there was a high fuel tank explosion near the back where three workers Bless There Souls did not make it. I also heard about something else happening but did not pay much to it.

My father worked at this plant for 25 years. I moved out of Marion 25 years ago. When I went back I was shocked to see all the industry that had left. Unions certainly didnt keep the industry, workers or money here in America. Industry left this country for one reason only. To reduce labor costs. It's incredible that a union laborer with a 10th grade education could make $70,000 a year. At the same time, it allowed my father to provide a good living for us. It's a double edged sword.

Yeah, the drunks that come back from lunch two hours late everyday. Yeah, that's what kept it going for so long...sure...

My parents live right there on the road and they said that people was working there that day, but the city said that no one was working that day. It is a mystery why it happened, but it seems that it only destroyed a certain part??

union is what kept that plant going for so long.

Driving by it everyday is a grim reminder of what unions do to Modern day industry.

actually i think it was done on accident by workes who were welding earlier that day.
