  • I don't understand how you connect such mixer via ethernet? I receive my internet via ethernet! c'mon now, how about USB, or FIREWIRE?

  • @lentejTV9 It's the ethernet connectivity that allows you to control multiple DAW's on separate computers from the one control surface. It works best through a hub anyway, so there's no problem with keeping your computer connected to the internet.

  • Yep! There'd certainly be nothing wrong with the first option. It's all great gear, just less consolidated than the Nucleus.

  • This would be perfect for my project studio if it had the Ques and other knobs of SSL controls on the console.

  • @BOSSCLASSMUSIC Accessing Aux-Sends and EQ functions is actually pretty easy if you're sticking to control of on-screen functions. If you're talking about analog Q-Sends etc. then that wasn't SSL's aim with the Nucleus. They wanted to make a control surface with integrated audio interface. The Matrix is their control surface / analog mixer and it has those kinds of functions in analog. Also an amazing bit of gear!

  • best demo ive seen yet thanks

  • @rob8ken Thanks very much! Glad we can help out.

  • i think i'd have the 1st option!!!

  • @SoundDevicesTV because without the Q-Sends & Talkback feature it makes us that own Apogee Symphony's, Orpheus's or other HQ Pre-Amps & Converters think "Why do I need another pre-amp? I could save money if I just bought a basic digital mixer w/ motorized faders and SSL plug-ins." Unless a person just wants the Analog SSL sound.

  • @SoundDevicesTV yep, I was talking about analog Q-sends. In my humble opinion, the Nucleus is a SuperAnalogue based pre-amp w/ faders and the Matrix (to me) is a overpriced midi controller.

Don't get me wrong, I've read great things about the Nucleus and am still considering buying one; however, the Nucleus should have the Q-sends and talk-back of the X-Desk and Matrix, that would make it perfect.

  • does anyone know of training dvd for this product.
