During the week of July 18th, 70 emerging leaders from 20 different countries, have been invited to UC Irvine in a forum to share scholarly highlights of science, law, and governance in sustainability. The "Summer Sustainability Fellows" share interests on two common concerns: (1) human induced changes to the environment, especially the world's marine and freshwater resources; and (2) the negative legacy of the 20th Century from the disposal of toxic chemicals into the environment. Countries represented include: China, Thailand, South Korea, Canada, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Brazil, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Israel, India, Nigeria and South Africa.
