That must have been a great experience for you that looks to me like the alpha female of the canyon pack and the collared black mentioned is the alpha male number 712 they also have 3 beautiful yearlings and some pups at the rondeau site that should be ready to head off with the adults soon

Such beautiful wolf running like that and my heart just beating so hard!! ohh i have always want to see them in Yellowstone Park but always never saw ones cuz i was there twice! grrrr wahh... love it! I would love very much to buy that or download to my computer so i can watch it over and over!! I have never got tired of it! NOPE love them to death! Beautiful job u got on video!

I agree! I told my daughters that they were VERY lucky to see one wolf and this wolf was our second wolf of the day! One must be viewing wildlife in the park at first light to see the most wildlife. This was not the vacation for sleep!

I believe that the collar was placed by park rangers for tracking purposes. The white wolf was about a half a mile down the road from the black one. These wolves looked interested in the baby bison the way the behaved, positioned themselves and looked at them with the black wolf setting up about 200 yards from the bison.
