  • It was a defective part because I bought 6 of them and 4 did work properly...The problem was the reset button or resetting manually didnt work and one did work the first time and never worked after.

I returned them to the seller.

  • I have exactly the same components, and probably the same symptoms as well. Are you sure it was defective Pro Mini? I have one more of them somewhere, need to find and test it...

  • did you guys all download the USB driver update that come with the arduino software? then you got to select the correct COM port from he options tab in the program itself. other than that idk what the problem might be

  • I got the same blinking sequence too whe I first used mine. It turned out alright though when I selected the right COM port in the arduino environment. If you're on Windows, to find out which one it is, install the drivers and go to Control Panel-> System. One of the pads should have a "Device Management" option. Click that. On the list that appears, open the Ports(COM&LPT) branch by clicking the + next to it. Then plug the arduino to your USB. You will now see an extra COM port. Thats the one.

  • I'm getting the same blinking sequence with a brand new Mini Pro. I don't believe it is broken because the reset button actually does reset the device. There must be some trick that initiates flashing readiness

  • I was reading up on your post on how you couldnt get this to work with the USB adapter shown in the vid. Was wondering if you had any luck getting it to work?

I'm working on a project for uni, thinking of replacing my arduino mini with the arduino pro mini but there seems to be quite a few issues with this particular arduino board so not sure if its worth it or not
