I miss Dan Rather on the CBS evening news even though I disagreed with what he did to basically get fired.

I agree with Dan..even if it means creating a lie with his partner Marla Mapes..if a journalist has a political agenda, they should do their part to nuture it, promote it and if they have to lie and make up a story they should go forward with it..afterall lying is a good thing when it comes to journalism.
Lying is a good thing..ain' that right Dan?

Dan Rather? A pathological liar. A man incapbale of honest thought. A lockstep, self blinded peddler of liberal fantasies.

Don't to tell me what my eyes see and don't tell me what to believe in. Just state the news.
High quality news, Dan? Your reporting gave us no insight on the Vietnam War, War On Drugs, Cold War, Iraq War, or anything. So maybe the problem was you, Mr. Rathers. Anyone with a pen and a pad could do your job and you know it. The scam is up, people realize they can investigate for themselves to find answers and don't need these elites telling them what 'their eyes see.'

Ahh, the "so many sources nowadays" argument. Yes, good point--I'm sure KARE11 will be happy to switch to internet-only and donate their broadcast license and equipment to Pacifica, now that it's no longer of any value!

ironic that Dan talks about ethics and accountability of the press. he should take his own advice.

Dan Rather should follow Charlie Rose and Daniel Schorr, each former CBS News reporters of his acquaintance, over to National Public Radio and Public Television. Dan Rather should ask the advice of former Lyndon B. Johnson Press Secretary and News Man Bill Moyers, who can teach Dan Rather how to "Write (his) own ticket" to host a show. Network crumpled under political pressures and cancelled that current events jokester who is now on HBO and has a feature film, "Religiosity" out now.
