Iron Mountain Road Mt Rushmore

Iron Mountain Road in the Black Hills of South Dakota (hwy 16-16A). Tunnel, horseshoe curve, and 360 degree loop over/under one of the pigtail bridges. Watch for the view of Mt. Rushmore when exiting the tunnel. In response to questions, I filmed it by placing my camera on a tripod and sticking it up through the sunroof of the rental car. That's why the camera is so high above the road and there's no windshield glare. You can see the red car hood in a couple of places at the bottom of the screen.

yeah! I just did this towing a 25ft trailer with 65,000 Sturgis motorcycles coming the other way, because I was told by some smart alec that it was a "shortcut"! I made it, but blew my boyfriend's transmission (he's in Afghanistan, there goes 6 months pay! ;-) now i'm sitting at the Rapid City Koa (for 2nd week) waiting on repairs. He got hassled cause his girlfriend blew his transmission in S. Dakota, now at least I have some respect coming...besides, not a single scratch, AC unit fine!
