I've added a native internet interface to Magic-1 - the Wiz830MJ. This is my second attempt using a custom PCB to mate directly to Magic-1's backplane. My first attempt used a hand-soldered daughter card, but proved unreliable because it extended the address and data busses by about 13 inches. I still need to integrate it into Minix's TCP/IP stack, but so far so good.
Helping to get it running was the gift of a HP 16500A logic analyzer, which replaced my aging HP 1631D. Thanks again Joe!
I'll keep the original SLIP interface, and use this primarily for telnet session and ftp.

@aidilj Hi Aidil - great to hear from you. I'll have to say, though, that my work on Magic-1 is more sporadic than continuous. The typical pattern is that it gathers dust for a year or so and then I decide to play with it for a couple of weeks, and after that it goes back to gathering dust. Hope all is well with you - I'm still keeping very busy (and having fun) working on Android at Google.

Hi Bill, Aidil here. The Magic-1 clone is collecting dust... Good to know you're continuously developing Magic-1 !!

@Z80Fan Long ago I'd planned on building a serial terminal for Magic-1 loosely following Don Lancaster's "TV Typewriter" plans, but decided against it. Right now I'd say no - I probably won't build a native video interface. On the other hand, I'd previously claimed I'd never add something like the WizNet interface either. We'll see....
