Camping at Lake Meachem in upstate, NY. We're in a Cabelas Bighorn II outfitter tent with a cylinder stove.

  • If you leave the damper open the pipe going out of the tent will get too hot. Keep the damper closed and open up the air vents to control the fire. This works very well for me.

  • I'll do a walk around next time I set it up. Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks...it's actually the Hunter stove. I bought the stove package directly from Cylinder stoves.

  • Yes, definitely not a backpacking setup, but the most luxury you're ever likely to find in tent camping.

  • Thanks for the comment! I can't recommend this setup enough.

She gets all the credit... I don't want to get hit.

  • have you had any problems with the stove and heat behind it with the big horn tent? some say the tent gets too hot behind the stove.

  • Nice :-)

  • Nice! Can you give us some info about the tent? Maybe a little walkaround? :)
