Windows 7 looks similair in many ways, but it works really better ; ).
I used to be not happy with Windows Vista, but I am with Win7.

Oh and btw, don't tell me to install Linux because I have no clue, because I have Ubuntu, OS X and Win 7 all installed in Vmware, I know what all of them have to offer.

Slow performance...lol... tests have proven that Vista was about 5% slower on average, you know whow much that is on 40 frames? 2 frames difference! But enough for you to put up with a Liunx that Linux PROFESSIONALS not even have many good things to say about, watch the video "Desktop Linux Sucks, And What We Can Do About It "
If you want to deal with all those tons of issues that they talk about in the video (and many are MAJOR issues!) then go ahead...lol

im trying to decide if i should keep ubuntu 9.04 as my main os or if i should go to windows 7. i originally switched from vista to ubuntu because of slow performance. any advice?

Windows 7 is much less of a resource hog then vista is.

They probably did copy some stuff from KDE. Probably some stuff from OS X. Windows 7 is probably full of copied stuff. But then again, so is OS X, and so is KDE...
