Another video from 1988! The Bangles did a cover of Hazy Shade of Winter for the movie Less Than Zero. This song, written by Paul Simon, was originally recorded by Simon and Garfunkel in 1967. No offense to S & G, but I prefer The Bangles cover to this song. It has a more edgy feel to it and it reached to No. 2 on Billboards Hot 100 List. However, the Simon & Garfunkel version had one thing over the Bangles; they were able to include the lyrics:

Ahhh, seasons change with the scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry
Wont you stop and remember me
At any convenient time
Funny how my memory slips while looking over manuscripts
Of unpublished rhyme
Drinking my vodka and lime

On the Bangles cover, the record label record requested to omit that portion of the verse. For more on the Bangles, please go to http://www.thebangles.com/.
More to come.

  • I agree with twinkle, this is my favorite reading of the song mainly as Hoff's voice, while limited, is always effectively utilized to it's maximum potential. Less than Zero was a movie that started me on the way to eventually cleaning up alot of bad behaviors. This song makes my favorites if only for that.

  • Am I the only young person that loves the 80's music. If so then thats still ok with me. I LOVE THE 80's!!!!!!

  • awesome and thank god for youtube and a great movie this song went with ....less than zero ..

  • @nicablackmamba I agree. Simon and Garfunkel are my favourite band but I think The Bangles did this song with a lot more power.

  • This song really needs more cowbell.

  • @retto228 There aren't very many good bands anymore period. I don't think there are any 'musicians' anymore.

  • There aren't very many good girl bands anymore.

  • Always loved Vicki Petersen's legs. Damn.

  • the bangals sang this song ten times better than the original singers!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wouldnt agree,i think s and g version is a lot better. There are too much vocals and artifical instrumentals here

  • Better than the original.

  • One of the best things to come out of the 80s (despite the missing lines). This is the ONE thing I look forward to listening to as soon as it starts snowing (or right as Spring starts).
