Companiondog- pet
Sheperds- The Doberman was bred from the GSD (which was used to herd sheep) and the Rottweiler (German Cattle dog)
-
Schutzhund- Detect a intruder on the property, bark and hold him tell his handler calls aus. Attack the intruder if he acts aggressively towards the handler, or runs; and then track him down if somehow he does outrun the dobe.
K9 Patrol- Protect handler, and track suspect/drugs
Wardog- Detect enemy snipers/explosives/insurgents, and to protect the handler. (which is the reason why still to this day the USMC only uses Dobermans over seas)

The Female/Fixed Male Dobe are just as protective as the other. you have to neuter the males since natural males only want to fuck some bitches. (for lack of better words.)
All dobes are bred to be (regardless of gender; and I'm only posting the veriouse type dogs because most people assume that all security dogs are attack dogs, which they are not.)-
Guarddogs- attack anyone that enters the property without the owners permission.
Attackdogs- attack anyone that isn't the owner.

Why the fuck does the fat guy packing heat?

poor bitework from the dobie (maybe its american type that's why) and stupid people... you dont show off with a doberman unless you have a complex.
the fat guy has the gun in the right pocket while his right hand is busy with the pillow. very smart ahahhahaha

@TasteTheDiabetes You really can't generalize this by gender. Dobermans-male or female are number one most protective of their family anywhere. Females do tend to be very protective of their home territory (a maternal instinct to protect the nest and offspring). Males are on guard of their people anywhere, any time. I have had dobermans all my life and I am speaking from experience.

@staand1 Male dobermans are territorial and will protect places, female dobermans are maternal and will protect people.
@Sundogjeep "I can't imagine living without them." Im sure that most doberman owners think like this, if not that all of us.

I would add that, in my 32 years of owning Doberman Pinschers, the males are more adept at protecting female humans and the females will be protective of their male owners. Both are VERY protective of children, their family or not. Still, I can't imagine living without them. We have two sibling males now ( both 118 lbs. ) and a female rescue ( 72 lbs. ) and we love them like family and they know it.
