Keep watching! Just a bunch of clouds at first - then the lightning gets really intense!
I was shooting a time lapse while camping near Dos Cabezas Siding in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Originally I just intended to capture the cool clouds. Little did I know that an epic thunderstorm would eventually happen. Stayed up until dawn enjoying and shooting nature's fireworks!
A siding, in rail terminology, is a low-speed track section distinct from a through route such as a main line or branch line or spur. It may connect to through track or to other sidings at either end. The distinction between sidings and other types of track is that a "siding" generally denotes an auxiliary or not exactly specified usage. Sidings often have lighter rails, meant for lower speed or less heavy traffic, and few, if any, signals.
