  • On the surface this sounds like a really laid back song. But then you listen to the words and it's all paranoia and murderous threats. You gotta love the contradiction of it.

    Thanks for posting.

  • @Ada1613 I totally agree this man is amazing! It sucks to know that no one has heard of him because a lot of the bands in the 30's and 40's took Hurt's credit. He's a legend in my book!!! :)

  • Oldies but goodies

  • It is amazing how many people dont know of him, thanks for bringing it to all. What he could do with a simple guiter!

  • Been hearin this man since 1965 and wishin he was still with us...and wish I could sit right next to him. We share the same state of Missiiisippi and I don't thank nobody else can carry his drawers.

  • gonna wake up boozie gonna kill my susie :D

  • learning to play this right now. about got it!

  • i love this

  • I just thought I would make the comment that in later recordings, like the one I have from a live 1965 recording at Oberlin College, John removed the lyrics about 'grab a gun and kill my baby'.

  • Thanks for posting this! For some odd reason, I was thinking about him today. I have an old double LP album (which is mostly live, and has what I think is a better recording of this song). So I decided to check and see what might be here...I think he's great and this is a great song.

  • Heard this at the end of the movie "B.T.K." and just had to have it on my iPod. Thanks!

  • @toiseywoisey or maybe Authority arresting you for your business?
