About the Game

Dominate the 18th century on land and sea. Command the seas, control the land, forge a new nation, and conquer the globe. Empire: Total War takes the Total War franchise to the eighteenth century Age of Enlightenment — a time of political upheaval, military advancements, and radical thought, captured in stunning detail in Empire: Total War.

Empire: Total War introduces a host of revolutionary new features, including true 3D naval combat. For the first time in the Total War series, you will be able to intuitively command single ships or vast fleets upon seascapes rich with extraordinary water and weather effects that play a huge role in your eventual glorious success or ignominious defeat. After pummelling your enemy with cannon fire, close in to grapple their ship and prepare to board, taking control of your men as they fight hand-to-hand on the decks of these wooden behemoths.

In addition, Empire: Total War will see further enhancements to the Total War series signature 3D battles and turn-based campaign map. Real-time battles will pose new challenges with the addition of cannon and musket, challenging players to master new formations and tactics as a result of the increasing role of gunpowder within warfare. And the Campaign Map — for many, the heart of Total War — introduces a variety of new and upgraded elements, including new systems for Trade, Diplomacy and Espionage with agents; a refined and streamlined UI; improved Advisors; and a vastly extended scope, taking in the riches of India, the turbulence of Europe and, for the first time, the untapped potential of the United States of America.

Take command on the high seas. New real-time 3D naval warfare takes Total War's unparalleled battle action to the high seas, with players commanding single ships or vast fleets.
Become a founding father. Starting in 1700 — The era of warfare across oceans, revolution and the founding of the United States.
All new graphics engine and technology features staggering real-time seascapes, new advanced landscape and flora systems, and dynamic weather.

About the Game SPECIAL EDITION

In a time when a soldier's life could be given easily and quickly, it took extreme courage and determination for a true hero to forge a reputation for themselves.

Whether through harsh and highly disciplined training, generations of successful military tradition or world-leading technology, the Empire: Total War Elite Units are among the very best of the best.

The elite units introduce six of the most influential military forces of the 18th Century. True to the period, these exclusive elite units become available on the campaign map via a certain faction or once a specific geographical region is under control.

Each elite unit brings with it the potential to open up dramatic new strategies and turn the tide of your campaign. A cornerstone of your Empire's land or naval forces, each has the potential to be used to decisive and devastating effect.

Empire: Total War Elite Units consists of the following premium content for aficionados of the Total War series. This content is for use with Empire: Total War. Once Empire: Total War is installed the elite units will become available in the single player game.

HMS Victory — The Royal Navy's most distinguished and formidable first rate ship of the line; Lord Nelson's 104 gun flagship is one of the most heavily armed ships of the 18th Century.
Rogers' Rangers — Major Robert Rogers' company of rangers are highly trained elite light infantry, specialising in reconnaissance and special operations. They are extremely mobile in even the most challenging environments.
Ottoman Organ Gun — A viciously powerful field gun, able to inflict incredible damage on the opposing army. Emphatic proof of the Ottoman Empire's advanced knowledge of gunpowder and firearms technology.
Ghoorkas — "Better to die than be a coward" has been the motto of these elite Nepalese soldiers for centuries. Disciplined, tough and courageous, they carry a deadly 18-inch long, curved knife known as the kukri.
Corso Terrestre Guerillas — An independent light infantry guerrilla regiment, experienced in skirmish and stealth tactics. Surprise raids and ambushes are the guerillas' favoured tactics, a way to compensate for their limited number and light armour.
Bulkeley's Regiment — A French unit of Irish mercenaries with a fearsome reputation for hardiness. Exceptionally tough and resilient, they make for a highly flexible and dependable regiment.

  • do you need normal empire total war for this?

  • I think I'll stick to Arma

  • @ArtofStealth1911 Yeah but some countries get shit for cheaper prices

  • @Eshayzbra96 mine was £330 pounds and it plays this game perfectly with no lag on high settings (havent tried ultra yet) but recording with fraps i have to set it to low or medium settings :/

  • Also some people will spend up to 1,000 to 2,000 dollars for a laptop or computer to play these games but some cheap PC's do the job perfect, like my laptlop was only 700 dollars.

  • This is the most realistic game i have played i mean the bayonet battles have actual contact and blocking and can go until on and on until the enemy retreat or die, and the best line battles :) i love this game more then Company of Hero's... i'm sure people would object to my opinions?

  • @negawan they weren't if you noticed it zoomed in on the cannon ball and then everything just completely changed(i have this game and i play it every day and see this intro but you might just be kiddin'

    but whatever).

  • i wonder if that cannon crew at 1:40 was really aiming for that ship..

the other guys would be all like: woah dude, thats one cannon... awesome vid!

  • @DawnTharpe heresy!!! lol

  • On the quest for spiritual evolution? Not getting any results from techniques that you have found?intuition, healing powers, it is all part of human nature.THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM it is time to wake up.
