On what was a perfect summer day with blue skies above and not a cloud in the sky, Barga Vecchia was filled with hundreds of people enjoying this year' Barga in Jazz event. After more than two decades of concentrated effort, planning and a good deal of love from the Rizzardi family, the Barga In Jazz event has turned into the most popular and enjoyable outdoor event here in the city. A dozen hugely different jazz groups playing in all of the piazzas in Barga Vecchia with music ranging from the far edges of jazz as it moves into funk and blues as practised by the Organic Groove to the almost minimalist Buddhist sounds emanating from Vittorio Alinari hidden away in the cool and dark of the Duomo and of course who could not ignore the sound of Aristodemo and his keyboards in Piazza Salvo Salvi.
