オートザム・AZ-1（エーゼットワン）は、マツダ5チャンネル化によって誕生したオートザムから発売された2座席の軽スポーツクーペである。

AZ-1、ビート (BEAT) 、カプチーノ (Cappuccino) 、この三車種は同時期に発売された二人乗りの軽自動車であり、頭文字を合わせて平成ABCトリオと呼ばれる。
概要

1992年9月24日に発表され、同年10月5日に発売。スズキ製3気筒DOHCのF6Aターボエンジンをシート後部に（ミッドシップ）搭載し、「究極のハンドリングマシ­ーン」と銘打たれた。パワートレインはアルト・ワークスと一部共通化している。外板に特殊プラスチックを使用し、ガルウイングドアを採用して、超小型のスーパーカーを演出­していた。ボディは外装を簡単に取り外せるスケルトンモノコックという特殊なフレームを採用して剛性を高め、外装が無い状態でも走行可能。車重は720kg。

軽自動車唯一のガルウイング、外装にFRPを多用した軽量ボディやステアリングのロックトゥロックが2.2回転という機敏な操作性を持つ。足回りがアルトベースの物を使用­していた為、ノーマル状態では重心の高さや軽自動車ゆえのトレッドの狭さから横転事故も発生し、極度のリア荷重なためフロントタイヤの接地圧が足りず、直進安定性の不備を­指摘する評価もあった。「窓が殆ど開かない」「社外品カーコンポが殆ど搭載できない」、「体格的に乗り手を選ぶ」といった嗜好性の強い作りと、発売された時期がバブル崩壊­の最中といった事もあり販売台数は低迷、1995年に生産を打ち切った。総生産台数は4,392台。生産終了された現在でも熱狂的なファンも多く、中古車市場では程度の良­い車体にプレミア価格が付いている事もある。

開発当初、スペアタイヤはフロントに収納する予定であったが、衝突安全テストを行った際に車内に飛び込んでくることがわかり、急遽運転席後ろの荷物置きスペースへ変更する­こととなった。ガルウイングドアのため、万一横転した場合は脱出手段がなく、窓ガラスを粉砕するハンマーを備えたユーザーもいた。
