Instigators were a hardcore punk band from Thornhill[Dewsbury] and consisted of Semi(vocals), Tab(Bass), Hammy(Drums) and Mooney(Guitar). This line up recorded what is arguably the best material the Instigators ever produced. [1] They released a demo tape in 1983, a live in Leeds cassette tape soon followed, and the following year they released the EP The Blood is on Your Hands on Bluurg records, which reached #21 on the UK Independent Chart.[1] The 1985 LP release Nobody Listens Anymore increased their popularity, reaching #18 on the Indie Albums Chart,[1] and securing them a spot on Pushead's Cleanse the Bacteria compilation LP. In 1985 the original line up split up and a new line up of Tez (vocals), Simon (guitar), Trimble (bass guitar), and Cuzzy (drums) was formed and the music took on an American feel.
I saw the Instigators in Stow Hill Labour Club Newport Wales twenty something years ago. Had trouble finding their albums even back then. Was gutted when I lost all my vinyl in a divorce. Searched everywhere for a CD years later but gave up. Then recently found dine upon the dead on itunes say Im happy. Listening to it and watching this video brings back some happy memories. Punk was great
