Planet Wisp
Part 3 of 3
Act 6 and Boss

This is the third part of our coverage of the Wisps' homeworld in Sonic Colors for the Wii. It covers Act 6, which isn't really all that memorable as it blatantly recycles parts of Act 5, plus the boss, which...blatantly recycles parts of the Tropical Resort boss.

At the very least, they DID manage in turning up the boss's difficulty. The most obvious change is that the platforms are now circular rather than the normal rectangular. This means they're harder to get onto and also harder to stay on. The eye in the middle is also not always open anymore. When it's closed, it will shoot out a laser from a few angles at once. Platforms block the lasers, but they also spin around faster making it difficult to figure out where the lasers will be. Lastly, instead of the Cyan Laser, which lets you aim directly at the eye, you get the Pink Spikes. I didn't get a chance to use it as the Spikes wore off before the eye could reopen, but, as with all other Wisp powers usable in a boss fight, hitting the eye with the Spikes counts as two hits. In addition, the Pink Spikes renders Sonic completely unaffected by any of the boss's attacks, so at least you've got that over the Laser.

You know, I would've thought that liberating the Wisps' home planet would've mandated a more significant cutscene than Sonic talking to a giant busted-up robot. Sonic is supposed to care about the Wisps a lot, and even if Sonic is short on time (Eggman's master plan reaching completion in just a few hours--when Sonic had departed for Planet Wisp), at the very least, we could've seen the Wisps' gratitude and perhaps Yacker's request to help free the other Wisps.

The fifth and next Zone Sonic will be visiting is the Aquarium Park Zone. Yes, this will be a water area. It's part waterpark, part seafood eatery, and all wet. This is the first home console Sonic game in a long while to have him go underwater, not counting the concurrently-released Sonic 4. I believe Sonic Adventure 1 was the last case of Sonic going underwater besides remakes and handhelds, with the snake portion of the Lost World stage.

  • I knew it was under construction by the term planet. All of em cease to exist in our dimension. What could Dr. Eggman have been construction and you can guess by what you see in game. What does Sonic mean by Copyright law anyway? Please (no offense) respond to both points in this comment. I'm a Curious.

  • @CuriousUserX50 Before I start explaining, do you know what copyright law is?

Also, look at all the other comments in this video and other videos. Not every point in every comment has to be responded to. In fact, not even close to all of them are responded to. Look at other people's videos too. Most uploaders never respond at all. Think of this from someone's viewpoint other than your own.

  • Wait, so Eggman's robots are ring-powered now?

    Going green, i see.

  • @SepheWhiplash Some of the ones in this game are Wisp-powered as well.

  • NO COPYRIGHT LAW IN THE UNIVERSE IS GOING TO STOP ME!

ladies and genteleman, a new meme.

  • @MelloYello76 I hope I wasn't responsible for it.

  • @Overhazard No offense sir. I'm just curious. And Sonic was talking to noone when Dr. Eggman wasn't in the cutscene. Estimate what they might have been constructing/

  • 4:36 PIPA!!!!!!!!!!! SOPA!!!!!!!!!!!! jkjk lol

  • Despite the cutscene being as informative as any other cutscene from any other game, probably the most entertaining dialogue I've seen from one yet - and only minor cringe instead of the usual extra helping. Lol'd SO HARD when Tails snuck up on him like that and he about shat himself...

  • @MelloYello76 What dose he mean by Copyright law?

  • NO COPYRIGHT LAW IN THE UNIVERSE IS GOING TO STOP ME! the best thing sonic ever said

  • 4:31 best sonic line EVER!!!!!

  • it seems omochao has disgraced the ability of the human mind once again by telling us the no shit obvious thing to do to beat the boss

  • @aaroncmx Well, at least be thankful he doesn't sound like Minnie Mouse (I'm looking at you, Amy!)...
