Valerie your relentless. You must have some crap to sell.

@luckyneko1 AMEN! It is very difficult dealing with this when you are your sole supporter. I have tried to work and get sick and can't. I truly understand that. Oh, and I too noticed the reporters last remark. Idiot!

Thank you!

Actually, I take Neurontin because it doesn'tcause as much edema. I take 1200mg of it everyday, as well as flexeril 10mg 3/day, cymbalta60mg, ultram for flares, vit d formy deficiency, plaquenil for my ctd,and digestive enzymes.

I gained 40 lbs. on anti-dep.'s & lost it (yes!), but my extremities (hands/feet/ankles, etc.) are often so swollen w/ edema, it's still looks like fat. Lyrica has SO many side effects, like its sister meds (Neurontin...) What meds help you?
-
Is the medication she is talking about Lyrica?
This is such a well - spoken, lovely lady! Thanks for being bold about a scary, confusing illness!

My mom, my sister and I all have fibromyalgia and have suffered for many years (it started at different times for each of us) physically AND emotionally because of doctors telling us it was all in our heads. Unfortunately I can't take lyrica because it caused excessive water retention in my legs, but it did get rid of 90% of my pain. Now I'm on new meds (despite the fact that I hate taking meds) and my fibro is finally going into remission. I'm so glad that this lady was on the news to share!

I agree he didn't get it!I finally got back 2 work 18 months ago after 5 yrs of disability and I spent most of that time working on me.I was self absorbed and had 2 be.I got better about 23 mths ago and got off of all my meds and got back to a full time job. After being there for 18 months my dr has put me out 4 several months to gain control back of my FMS.I am taking this time 4 ma and making some big changes in my life 2 make it better.I am going 2 go look 4 this book.Thank you for posting it.
This guy didn't get this at all. The book title is you DON'T LOOK SICK so what is the last thing he says??? You LOOK TERRIFIC.Missed the point dude. UGH.
I share the same illness. Most of us still have to work . When you HAVE to work (i.e. I am my only source of income)Most of us do not make enough money to save enough to survive the 1 to 3 years it can take to get disability,so we work. But when all you can do is drag your sick butt to work and come home and collapse, you just survive, not live.
