Eragon's good....but the Sword of Truth novels are eons better. And while I don't agree with the way Legend of the Seeker got filmed, Terry Goodkind worked with Sam Raimi so there's that author approval...besides, the actors are pretty good and the plot still rocks. But that's my opinion. :] Have fun reading or watching or whatever!

Here I get the basic story, and it is really funny. An innocent farmboy meets a couple of other worldly characters. One of them is an old grey wizard. The farmboy learnes that he is the "seeker" who is destined to defeat the dark lord. The dark lord tries but fails to kill him as an infant. The baby is adopted by farmers, after his mother died. The farmboy is given a magical book and sword. I am new to the show. Yet this is so familiar, because the same tropes occer in other fantasy stories.

simply put, this show would have lasted longer and been much better had they actually kept to the story! in the first 30 mins it completely butchers the story aside from their names! if you read the book there is plenty of action without screwing with it! ugh stupid tv people...

FYI, the guy playing Zed Is legendary fantasy / sci-fi actor Bruce Spence. He was the Gyro Captain in the last two Mad Max films, The Mouth of Sauron in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, the Trainman in The Matrix Revolutions, and Tion Medon in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. I think He's perfect for this role. Up till recently he's been a very under used, & under rated actor.

WOW REALLY? I waited over 500 pages for her to tell him she was a confessor and in this gay ass show she says it in the first episode WACKNESS PURE WACKNESS. IT'S NOT EVEN an inch close to the book. EPIC FAIL!

if people have watched up to the second season they will see that the show plays out like the book but the story is explained not all at once but in pieces along the way..
