@AarlandSun I think both platforms are very well-done. iOS is definitely designed with the more technically-uninclined in mind, and tends to cater more to that audience. Android may take a bit of tweaking to fit it to your liking, but on the positive side; Android is very easy to customize and has a world of options, and a very knowledgeable, open, and resourceful developer community. iOS is lacking in much expandability past stock, and so what you see is pretty much what you get.

@schiru3 download superoneclick and plug your phone in to your computer. Than press 'root' and wait a sec. Done! Reboot your system and it's ready to use

I know this probably sounds super noob but after removing stock apps, if you ever factory reset or unroot for whatever reason will they come back again?

on sd card i deleted maps cause it was taking like 4gb is that bad? Please respond

this doesnt work on my metro lg esteem my phone is rooted and it tells me that the app i want to remove is a read-only file
For all the people who have the "read only file" problem. I did the following:
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblk3 /system
rm /system/app/FILE-NAME-HERE.apk
This helped for me!
