There is overlap but some major differences between WF Orks and Blizzard Orcs. Bliz Orcs (as they exist from Warcraft 3 onwards) were enslaved by [Evil Gods Equivalent], but had an original culture based on animism and warrior-honor that they've been able to return to in their liberation. In this regard they're closer to John's Orkworld. The WF orks were created by the Evil Gods (like JRR's) and in gaining freedom had to build a new culture from their evil background. Hence pain & blood themes.

The orcs as evil cheap hunting prey thing is not the fault of D&D. Look at how orcs were treated by good old Tolkien. Also what you described is orcs in Warcraft lol.
