In this video I show how to hand pollinate a gourd plant. Unlike most plants members of the gourd family (includes pumpkins, melons and cucumbers) have seperate male and female flowers on the same plant. This is called Monoecious. Most flowers are dioecious and have the male and female parts on the same flower. It's easy to tell males from females because you can see the ovary on a female behind the flower. It looks like a miniature version of the gourd or pumpkin that will grow later on. Male don't have a little fruit behind the flower.
Budkeywest, finally made that video for you.
