  • I would like to discuss repairing/restoring of my antique radios (yes, I have a few) with you via email, if possible. Let me know? Thanks.

  • Sent you a YouTube email.

  • Thanks! The field coil in my RCA RE-154 is bad. Glad to know it can be replaced with a modern speaker.

  • Of course the original wound be preferred but in this case it would have increased the cost of the repair by about three times. I told the owner to keep the old original speaker stored in the radio. Thanks.

  • Indeed, Yogi Bear... That are the well known "radio problems". I once mounted some electronics with rubber from a bicycle tire, but that rubber conducted (!) so the electronics did not work..73 Beautiful radio!

  • Thanks radioam232. It was a real privilege to work on a radio like this. There just can not be to may of the RCA 280 around. 73

  • Most enjoyable!

  • The total current for all twelve plates added up to .667 amps, so I used a 1 amp fast blow.

  • How big is the fuse?

  • Thanks! This project was challenging, and I leaned a few things. Good luck with your RCA Tombstone. Bacon is not a good sound in a radio.
