  • I absolutely love how you choose scissor over comb vs. clippers. I tried and tried to get my barber school to teach this but I couldn't get anyone to move away from clippers and guards.

  • @MarkLemonds Thank you very much for the kind words MarkLemonds, I really appreciate it tons buddy!!!

  • i ahve a question on hair do hair slaons work? like i know laot of them pay rent for their stations but how much is the rent for each stylists?

  • @yuyu776 Great question yuyu776! This depends on several factors, which city is the salon in as NYC would be more expensive than most other cities. Also is it a higher end salon? Lastly in some cases, this can be negotiated if you bring a large clientele with you. As you can see, there are several factors to how much rent is. I hope this helps you yuyu776. :)

  • Great video my friend, very good at using your shears over comb, very impressed. not that im anybody...lol, but im a big critic of most "tutorial" videos on youtube for cutting hair, just for the sheer fact, that alot of new to the career individuals are mislead by the wannabees. have a great day.

  • @avamarie84 Great questions. As for your 1st, the reason I cut the sides in a square shape first was simply to share how I cut square layers on a short mans haircut. If I was doing this cut in a salon, I would skip layers and go straight to scissor over comb to save time. As for your 2nd question, it is a little harder using scissors to taper the neckline but I feel it is good to know. I personally feel the more tools we have in our tool box, the better. Thank you very much for the comment!

  • Why did you spend time cutting the sides into a square shape if you were going to go back and cut it way shorter with scissor over comb? Would it be harder to taper the neckline with just the scissors and then clean up with the edgers after? I always get stuck on how I want to do necklines, I'm going to try your way next time!
