Yikes. It's almost as if they made this a National Treasure or something. I prefer the original performance back in 2006 by a country mile. The super duper over-the-top effects distracted from Akikawa-san's singing. Anyway...

From my understanding, Mary Frye wasn't known as author for a very long time. Japanese singer-songwriter Man Arai translated her poem into Japanese. I am very glad to know this is AKIKAWA singing: it is beautiful. I love his voice. I will try to post the phonetic words for DoyleCE next, I don't know Japanese, but found them. I love to hear him sing this. For some reason, I love to hear it in Japanese. A Japanese friend typed out the English version for me many years ago.
