G Scale Central

We choose the title as that is the name of the new web forum for anyone interested in G Scale...give it a look. This short film is the 2009 update to the G Scale Mad and G scale Mad 2 vids. Filmed at our annual Gala running day in August when we have continuous running for around 15 hours, it shows just a few of the trains in operation on the day. The line is a simple, but long, single track with a station complex and depots at one end. We can run more than one train at a time as we use Live Steam as well as Electric power. We have a big 12.5 amp power controller so up to three large engines can run in multiple, or individually with care as the control is simple anologue...the same as a small OO train set.

Wow! What a great selection of trains. How are you filming the side by side shot? A bicycle? Another track or rail?

The moving shot was simply walking backwards quickly holding the camara. It has an anti-shake facility, but still took a few takes to get it right.
