The Nazis burned books. They were the GOVERNMENT. The examples you give of America are only a few PEOPLE, not the government. A nice presentation of the danger of fundamentalism. It doesn't matter if it's a megalomaniac spreading hate to lead a country or a preacher doing so to lead his "flock." People who are too ignorant to do anything but follow will always be weapons for the manipulative and their vile offenses.

At least Harry Potter is not a valuable book of history. Burning very rare books about ancient history and culture is a true crime for the whole humanity.

Seems like these guys did just about everything considered stupid / ignorant.

And, of course, they were Germans.

To be fare though, they had a lot of hate, and a good reason to hate as well. They were shamed and blamed for WWI, mostly because France was mad at them and convinced the Allies to shame them as well.
