  • a while back someone said they must have fallen away from God because of this song. whoever that was isn't very smart. what? are ALL christian songs written supposed to say "Jesus" or "christian" throughout most of the song? THIS SONG TALKS ABOUT NOT DWELLING ON THE PAST, its Biblical for one thing. what does the world know about Christian music? just who are they to judge? Christians are smarter than you think or could imagine.

  • Why does a band that has Christian influences have to be called a "Christian Band?" Does that mean that a movie made with Tom Cruise is a "Scientologist Movie?" Let's get past labels and enjoy the music for what it is: a beautiful work of art.

  • Wow, which album was this?

  • @mikkelnatas It IS amazing that Joey was impressed with your work on that remix. Aside from that - you can't differentiate between the two. Well, let me make this clear first - Believing that God exists, and believing IN Him with your entire life & soul are two very different things. With that being said, if you believe IN God - you are defined (by default) by your actions because those that don't believe in Jesus Christ look to those that do for standard and reference.

  • @mikkelnatas So, since I know that inwardly Joey believes in the joy & love of Jesus Christ - he expresses it externally through actions and lyrics. Our actions (married with our belief) define who we are presently, so The Echoing Green can clearly be defined as a Christian Band.

  • @mikkelnatas Love is an action, not a subject - so more accurately you would be "an artist of love" or an artist that exudes love. Yes, bands (Christian & otherwise...) are defined by genre, and generally speaking that is enough. But artist like Joey (and The Echoing Green) want to be defined by their actions of unconditional love that comes from Jesus Christ. What you believe inwardly is expressed externally though actions & words.

  • @XDayGloX In addition to that, I'm also glad that Joey was thrilled enough with my work to let me remix "Here is the House" on the special edition of the latest Echoing Green album "In Scarlet & Vile" (available on Bandcamp.com and wherever fine records are sold). I'm not trying to be difficult; I'm just trying to differentiate between being an artist that believes in God (which many artists are), and an artist who is defined BY their belief in God (as opposed to their art itself).

  • @XDayGloX According to that logic, since I proclaim my faith in love all the time, and write music teaching the value of love, and living a life of love, that makes me a love artist? Not that I mind being called a love artist... I'm just saying that you generally define a band by their musical genre, not the topic of a majority of their songs. If you defined most music by topic, instead of genre, most bands would be "Pointless Trivial Content Put Your Drinks Up" bands...

  • @mikkelnatas There is a flaw in your analogy though - if Tom Cruise put out films that were mainly about Scientology, then your right - we could label his films as "Scientoligist Movies"....but he doesn't. On the other hand, The Echoing Green mainly puts out music about Christianity (at the very least promotes it) - ipso facto Christian Band. ^_^

  • @mikkelnatas The Echoing Green aren't a band w/ Christian influences, they ARE a Christian band. Joey, the lead singer has proclaimed his faith in Jesus Christ numerous times, the band members also. The lyrics to all their songs (other than covers), have been about Christ, living the Christian life, or a relationship with Jesus Christ. I agree, the music Echoing Green puts out is a beautiful work of art - and we should admire and respect that.

  • one of my all time favorite techo songs.

  • My god. How do they go from the beauty of blind to this crap?
